Death by Ergonomics

Here’s a poster that went up at various places around the office this week. It’s part of a drive to improve workplace ergonomics, and follows up on an online training course we all had to do about chair positions, screen-eye alignment and avoiding keyboard and mouse strain. All of that was boring, but ignorable.

This one, however, has a morbid twist to it:

Getting your posture right for the hereafter

It is just me, or does this have a sinister undertone? Maybe it’s subliminal, but what I read into that is the following:

“Don’t think about leaving the company – you’re here until you die. The place for you is at your desk, working, so make sure that you stay in your place…”
